Welcome to the 2018 Technology, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship (TIE) Programme, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at addressing the pressing issue of youth unemployment in Kenya while fostering collaboration and innovation between JKUAT (Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology) and Syracuse University.
About the Programme
The 2018 TIE Programme, also known as the TIE-Program-Syracuse University Joint Workshop, is a unique endeavor that builds upon the success of previous years. Recognizing the urgent need to equip young people with the skills and mindset for entrepreneurship, this year’s program takes a bold step forward in its approach and objectives.
Our Approach
Strengthen Collaboration
One of the primary objectives of this year’s training is to foster closer collaboration between JKUAT students and Syracuse University students. By creating opportunities for interaction and exchange, we aim to promote cross-cultural understanding and collaboration in the field of entrepreneurship.
Joint Project Work
Through joint project work between student groups from JKUAT and Syracuse University, participants will have the chance to apply their knowledge and skills in real-world settings. This collaborative approach encourages teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving, while also laying the foundation for future partnerships.
Curriculum Development
The 2018 TIE Programme is committed to continually improving and refining its curriculum to meet the evolving needs of participants. By establishing structured exchanges and executive trainings, we ensure that our training remains relevant and impactful in today’s dynamic business landscape.
Pilot Youth Employment Skills (YES) Toolkit
In collaboration with IREX International, this year’s program will pilot the Youth Employment Skills (YES) toolkit. This toolkit aims to equip young people with the essential skills and resources needed to succeed in the job market and entrepreneurship. By integrating the YES toolkit into our training, we strive to empower participants with practical tools for personal and professional growth
